Global Warming (Alps)

Each year going to Grande Terche we wonder what the snow will be like? It's not much of a surprise now with the plethora of webcams there are in ski resorts but back in 2002 the first Christmas we spent there we excitedly rounded each bend driving up the mountain waiting to hit the snowline.

It didn't happen - 2002 was our first and thankfully only year with no snow at the apartment (although there has always been snow on the ski slopes).

But skiing is just one part of a winter holiday; the food, shopping, markets, walking and visiting other towns and resorts around and about are as important.

It's looking like the snow will be light again this year, but they've been making snow on the slopes for the past week so it is 'deep and crisp and even', so my wish now is that it starts to snow once it gets dark on Christmas eve - magical.
