Walking in the Mountains (Alps)

RANDONNEES - Walking in the Mountains

In the valley (Vallee d'Aulps) there are 200km of marked footpaths. Picturesque and unspoilt scenery surrounds you.

Excellent 1cm:200m maps are available from the local tourist office in St. Jean d'Aulps where you can also find out about organised half day and full day walks.

They publish a series of free walk leaflets covering all grades and lengths of walk - see some samples attached to the Vallee d'Aulps website.

To facillitate mountain walking the ski lifts in the valley open in rotation in July and August, for example the Grande Terche telecabin operates on Modays and Thursdays and costs 4.30euro.
