Painting in the Streets (Brittany)

Peinture dans les rues is an annual custom in Brittany through late spring and summer. Each week in town or 2 there is an open painting competition and the results of the days work is then judged and goes forward to the regional final - so this probably goes on throughout France to culminate in a national final. It's lovely to find a small town with an artist around every corner. These photos were taken in the quaint little town of Lizio a few miles away from our cottage, the town also boasts a quirky little 'museum' (really a gallery) that displays the work of a sculptor of recylced metal objects.
