Art in La Gacilly 2010 (Brittany)

This summer a new contemporary art space has opened in the little town of La Gacilly in Brittany, and where is it? In the house and grounds I would have LOVED to have bought about 4 years ago. It was a bit too highly priced for us and there was a huge crack running down the side of the building where it sat on the riverbank so doing it up wasn't going to be cheap either. But what a location and what space for a home/studio/gallery/business. Well after a couple of years sitting empty and getting progressivly more derelict the town has bought it and comverted it into a beautiful art space. The photo above shows an installation of African figures in the gardens. The exhibition inside was entitled 'Expressions, textile, contemporain' - very good.
Meanwhile the usual photographic display around the town was as stunning as always.......... Here we have the facade of the Yves Rocher institute with some hudge animal prints.
