IN THE ALPS

Possibly the last post about skiing for a while as it's time to book flights for coming and going to France through the year - time to look forward to other locations. So just a couple of photos from our Christmas hols. Above is the view across from the end of the ski run down to the telecabin in Grande Terche, I finally made a mental note of how far the 'Domaine des Cimes' (our ski apartment building) is from the ski lift and I reckon 200 metres or there abouts, you can see the Domaine des Cimes in the centre background of the shot, and if you don't zoom past the certain point on the run and end up too low down you can ski to the ski lockers entrance at the end of the day.

Second photo is of one of the 2 mountain restaurants at the top of the telecabin facing the slopes and the sun! and this is how it looked for Christmas day, and the 3 days after, then it went grey for the rest of the week. But 4 glorious days like this, whoopee, my kind of skiing weather. Grey days are a curse to me, as a glasses wearer it's very difficult to wear goggles over them and you need an orange or yellow lens to define the undulations in a slope in the flat light of a dull day. One year I will finally get myself organised and get prescription goggles sorted in the autumn.

I have now got a Facebook page for the apartment,
http://www.facebook.com/skiapartmenttorentinFrenchAlps?sk=info
Yes it's a catchy little web address but you should have seen it before it had 25 'LIKES' then it took up 3 lines. How difficult is it to get 25 LIKES? b***** difficult when your own son can't be bothered to log on and do it for you! but with much pestering of Facebook ''friends'' I finally got there. So there are lots of photos over there if you are interested.
