TOAD HALL continued (Brittany)

Not great photos - but at least a before and after of roughly the same area. This is the main bedroom which was a cow byre with a dirt floor. Shortly after the concrete was laid for the new floor we were sleeping on an airbed in the middle of the room and one morning we woke up and both independently wondered why we had a hissing noise in our ears? Several minutes later as we came to we discovered the bed was sitting on a small island surrounded by a very damp floor, the new plumbing in the
adjacent bathroom had come adrift and water was gradually flowing around us. Mercifully like most of the work done on the house the 'level' floor was a bit cock eyed and so we sat in splendid isolation on a dry patch, couldn't have been planned any better.

It's a bit worrying looking at this 'before' photo now, but does that look like a mound over a body buried by the door? I was never 100% comfortable in one of the bedrooms in our first house in France, I don't feel strongly one way or other about the existence of ghosts but I was willing to believe there was a presence there. Any things going bump in the middle of the night in Toad Hall are more liable to be the birds that live under the eaves scratching about.
