LAST TIME (Alps)
We may have spent our last Christmas and New Year in the Alps?? We are thinking of moving on to pastures new, pourquoi? I hear you ask! This year we hope will be the final push to become full time France residents, and to that end with our primary residence becoming no.8 Camp Soulel in the Herault department it would make much more sense to start skiing in the more conveniently placed Pyrenees than the twice as far away Alps.
But what of the 3 corners of France? hopefully there will be a third corner eventually once we've explored Font Romeu, Les Angles, Peyragudes etc., etc., Pyrenean ski resorts that are currently a mystery to me. So the corners of the triangle will morph from isosceles to scalene (I admit I had to look that up).
Now this could also be entitled 'Last Time' for another reason, 2 weeks ago I had my first 'major' ski accident and wrecked my knee, I had the most innocuous little fall but heard klick, klick, klick, my anterior cruciate ligament had had enough and of course I was about as far away from home on the Roc D'enfer circuit as I could be, great. At this moment in time I'm just looking forward to walking properly one day soon let alone ever skiing again, I've got a feeling that is going to be treated with great fear and trepidation.
Currently the plan is maybe next Xmas in Brittany, eye on the weather forecast and zoom off down to the Alps for January if the snow's good, on the other hand the apartment could be up for sale in a few months time and whoosh be gone. We shall see...............
